If the warning stays on after a fresh top up, the fluid level was probably not the cause. Common reasons include a faulty tank level or quality sender, a failed heater, a dosing or pressure fault, or a NOx sensor reporting out of range. Some vehicles also need a short drive before the system rechecks the level. Reading the stored fault codes is the quickest way to find out which part is reporting the problem.
Often the engine drives normally while an SCR fault is stored, but some vehicles reduce power or limit speed when the fault is serious or has been present for a while. The bigger risk is a restart restriction once a countdown reaches zero. If you notice reduced power alongside an AdBlue warning, it is worth having the fault codes read before a long journey.
Yes. AdBlue must meet the ISO 22241 standard. Water, diesel or old contaminated fluid in the AdBlue tank can trigger a quality fault and may damage the pump or injector. If the wrong fluid has gone in, avoid driving and tell us exactly what was added so we can advise on the next step.
Some newer vehicles have protected engine computers that require unlocking before software work can be completed. Our team can check your vehicle's ECU compatibility and advise whether unlocking is required. ECU unlocking is charged separately, and any additional cost will be confirmed before work begins. It depends on the ECU type, hardware and software version, not just the registration year. Some ECUs can be handled through supported methods, others need specialist processing, and some can't currently be supported.
Repair means finding the failed part, such as a pump, heater or sensor, and replacing it so the original system works again. We don't carry out repairs or replace parts. AdBlue Delete and Removal are our software service, which changes how the engine computer manages the AdBlue system. We confirm suitability and the price before any work is agreed.
Customers use both terms for similar software-based work. Removal is sometimes used when people expect parts to be physically taken off, but on most vehicles the work is carried out through the engine computer. We confirm exactly what is involved for your vehicle before quoting.
We work on many diesel cars and vans fitted with AdBlue, but compatibility depends on the exact engine and engine computer, not just the model name. Send us your registration and we will check your vehicle before giving a quote.
Yes. Our service is mobile, so a technician brings diagnostic equipment to your home, workplace or another agreed location, subject to availability. We read the stored fault codes and live data on site, which shows which part of the system is reporting the problem.
Not always. A code points to the area of the system that is reporting a problem, but wiring, connectors, software or another part can produce the same code. That is why we check live data and test the system rather than replacing a part just because a code appeared.
No. NOx sensor codes can be caused by wiring or connector faults, exhaust leaks, a sensor that has not warmed up properly, or a problem elsewhere in the SCR system affecting the readings. The sensor itself should be confirmed as faulty through testing before it is replaced.
Common causes include crystallised AdBlue blocking the pump or lines, a failed pump motor, a faulty heater in cold weather, wiring problems and contaminated fluid. P20E8 means reductant pressure too low, which points to the supply side but does not prove the pump has failed on its own.
No. P2002 means diesel particulate filter efficiency below threshold, bank 1. It relates to the DPF, not the AdBlue system, although both are part of the exhaust after-treatment and can sometimes appear together.
Yes. A countdown means the engine computer has logged an SCR fault and will block restarting when the distance reaches zero. Contact us before it runs out if you can, and tell us the remaining mileage. We will advise on the options and arrange an appointment, subject to location and availability.
On most vehicles the engine keeps running if it is already on, but it will not restart once switched off. The vehicle then needs the underlying fault dealt with before it can be driven again. Plan any stops carefully if your countdown is low.
Yes. 24/7 emergency callouts are available, subject to location and availability. Our standard hours are Monday to Sunday, 8 AM to 8 PM UK time.
Yes. An additional emergency callout charge applies outside standard hours. We confirm the charge with you before a technician is dispatched, so there are no surprises.
We provide mobile appointments across England, subject to location and availability, and can also help at some ferry ports and in parts of France by arrangement. Send your postcode on WhatsApp or use the postcode checker on our homepage.
It depends on your location, the work needed and our diary on the day. We will give you an honest appointment time when you contact us, rather than a promise we cannot keep.
Pricing depends on your vehicle, ECU requirements and location. Send us your registration and postcode, and our team will provide a personalised quotation. Any additional charges will be explained before your booking is confirmed.
Message us on WhatsApp (07356 057295) or fill in the short form on this page with your registration, postcode and mobile number. The price depends on your vehicle, the work needed and your location, and we confirm it before any work starts.
Payment is due on completion of the work unless something different has been agreed in advance.
It applies to the software work on that vehicle. If the covered software work develops a problem, we correct it again. Later software updates or recalls void the warranty, and callout charges are not covered.
Your registration number, postcode or current location, and a short description of the problem. A photo of the dashboard warning, including any countdown mileage, helps us advise you quickly. When WhatsApp opens with your details, remember to press send.
Yes. Servicing continues as normal. Let your garage know about any work we have carried out, and contact us if a warning reappears so we can check it.
The work changes emissions-related software, and rules on this can differ by country and type of use. It is your responsibility to make sure your intended use of the vehicle is lawful. If you are unsure, ask us before booking. Full details are in our Terms.
